All done moving - Posted by Steve Mount

Happy New Year to all ... Karen and I and the kids are all celebrating the holidays in our new house. If you've been following along in my House Quest blog, or if you helped us move stuff, you already knew that. If not, you may have gotten our change of address card (let us know if you didn't).

As of tomorrow, it will be two weeks, and we are just now at the point where we feel we're done. Most of the post-move repairs have been done (painters, fireplace guys, tile guys, glass guys, and A/V guys all had to come in after the move for various things). We're mostly unpacked (Karen and I have a couple of boxes of clothes in our room to decide what to do with). And the cars are now parked in the garage, rather than piles of boxes and disassembled furniture.

It was a nice, relaxing six weeks to live back with mom and dad and to be able to get to know Kristin again, and to get to spend good solid time with the newest member of the family, Nick. We're happy to be here, though (and so are our cats who adapted to being two of five, but were obviously glad to be two of two again).

We do still have a huge TV and its stand to move from one house to the other - can't forget that thing, it's just so damn big and heavy.

Anyway, thanks again to all who helped us move. As soon as I get up the energy to do so, I'll take fresh pictures and post them for all to see.
