What's been keeping us busy in Essex Junction... - Posted by Rob
For the past three weeks we've been doing spring cleaning here. However, it's a different kind of spring cleaning. We've just listed our house for sale and we're off on a quest to find something bigger. When Bridget and I bought this house in 2001, we never could have imagined growing out of it. However, the four of us are busting the seams on this 869 square foot ranch (about the size of the average Living Room on California). At the time, Andrew was 9 months old and we had no plans to add to our clan.
Plans change of course, and as you know David came along in March of 2004 rounding out our nuclear family. Suddenly, the two bedroom we saw ourselves staying in for a decade or more, was one bedroom short!
As it stands now, we're hoping to stay in the same general area. Right now, we're literally six houses down from Andrew's (and David's future) elementary school. Andrew doesn't even have to cross the street to walk to school... Are we nuts to move?
We're still weighing our options, most of the houses in our price range in the area lack lots of the updates our house has (new furnace, vinyl windows, new kitchen and carpet). So we may move out of town 20-30 miles where there's lots of new construction in our price range. We would be able to pick a floor plan, house style, carpet, paint, etc, as the house is built. It's a very exciting possibility, but hard on the commute in terms of mileage and time.
In other news, Andrew finished up kindergarden today! He's looking forward to camp, Bridget has him signed up for at least three day camps this summer. Bridget is talking about taking the kids on a road trip down south to explore the possibility of moving to another state--We'll see!

The weather in the upper South is quite nice right now, if she's making the trip in the next day or two!

Ummm, so you guys can't move to another state because I've been gone forever and will finally be back, so, um, yeah. Move to Fairfax or something. K?
