Reading Restaurant - Posted by Karen

Jacob and Ryan's classes put on a "Reading Restaurant" each year. The idea is that the kids dress up as characters from a book or country and they each have a job in the restaurant - it may be maidre'd, waiter, cook etc. You are seated at your reserved table and on the menu are the writing pieces the children worked on all year long. You order the pieces you want to read and your written comments are their "tips". The children always love and look forward to this each year and this year marked our 6th year participating! Jacob's theme for his class was The Wizard of Oz where he was a munchkin and served as maidre'd and waiter for our table. Ryan's theme was Charlotte's Web where he was Wilbur the pig. His job was waiter for our table as well. The boys did a great job and we loved reading all their writing pieces. The boys have a wonderful imagination! Here are a few pictures of the boys in their costumes and with their teachers all dressed up!
